There's Good News and Bad News...

Actually, I lied about the good news - there's only bad news.

Pete went to the shop today to repair the flexihose under the sink and the broken bit in the shower.  He found that, having done that and turned the water on, there were SEVERAL other leaks.  One at least is behind the shower tiles, so it looks like it will be an expensive job to repair everything.  It is very depressing.

Also. he checked the fusebox, now that things have had a chance to dry out and thinks that there are two major fuses which have failed, due to the water.  I will have to get a plumber in to repair the plumbing and an electrician in to do the fusebox and goodness knows how much that will cost me!

Even when they have done their jobs, there will be general building work needed to repair the building damage - like replacing the wall of the shower and re-tiling, and re-doing the ceiling of the kitchen, as it will almost certainly need to come down to repair another leak which seems to be somewhere there...

Why me?  I keep asking myself that question...

Finished for this week...

I've done most of the clearing and cleaning in the shop and flat, so I'm taking tomorrow off and finishing off next Monday, when I can get some help to put boxes up in the loft.  

Now the first floor looks like this...

Viewed from the kitchen, the room looks like this...

I need to repaint the stairs wall at some point (when the summer comes) as the water has brought off quite a bit of the paint.

In the bedroom, upstairs, I have moved the bed to the opposite end, and have got all the boxes ready to either go up in the loft or back to my house, so I can photograph the contents (mainly dolls and bears) and sell them on the Internet...

...and finally remembered to bring the curtain hooks so I could hang up my lovely curtain...
